Snow much fun in Tahoe!

We had planned on taking a small family vacation this year, maybe to Disneyland for a few days or somewhere like that. The main idea is to go somewhere that isn't freezing and covered in snow but when our good friends Dave and Edina called and invited us to Tahoe with them, we couldn't resist. We stayed at Dave's parents house in Inclince Village. It was the perfect setting for all of us and our two families had an amazingly fun time together trying out all the different winter activities Tahoe has to offer. I can't believe I'm saying it, but I may finally have come around to cold-weather sports. Crazy, I know!

Edina's picture of the gorgeous lake.

Luke and Xander sliding down the stairs at the house. It was one of their favorite pass times!

Breakfast and games!

Playing hide-and-seek!

Bath time with Addyson, Xander and Luke.

The first full day we went to a ski resort nearby called North Star. We spent the day walking through the shops stocking up on winter gear and just kind of exploring.

BFF's Dave and Parker...words escape me...

BFF's Xander and Luke...not quite as obnoxious as their fathers ha!

We took a fun ride on the gondola and saw some amazing views of the mountain.

Mommies and kiddos!

Addison--the token girl. She is such a cutie!

Tripp ready to eat lunch!

The boys entertaining themselves while we waited for our food to come..they were sure silly!

Our babies...we're thinking Tripp has a thing for the older ladies!

Getting ready to head in to Squaw Valley, home of the 1960 Winter Olympics. This place was really cool!

Delighted that they could walk around with a beer. They didn't put cup holders on strollers for nothing!

One of my favorite pics of the whole trip. Thanks Edina for snapping this shot of our kiddies!

We took the boys tubing and it was super-fun! There were three hills to choose from and they were all really fast. We couldn't take the boys on our laps but we didn't need to because they were brave and went all by themselves. It was hard to pull them away when our time was up.

We rode a moving sidewalk with our tubes up to the top of the hill.

Tripp and I cuddled while the boys went for a run.

Hanging out at the bottom of the hill waiting for our turn to tube.

Addy and mama..pretty snow bunnies!

Parker's starting a snowball fight.

So now we have to give Luke the "no snowballs in people's faces" talk.

Here comes our boy! His arms were barely long enough to hold to the tube handles.

Love this action shot.

Tripp was a great sport even though he couldn't get in on much of the action.

Edina and I nearly broke our backs building a giant snow castle.

After tubing we ate lunch at a sushi restaurant in the Squaw village. Tripp was showing off his pretzel-eating skills to our waiter and I snapped this cute pic of him:)

Parker and Dave took Luke and Xander on their first ski adventure at a nearby hill. Both the boys and dads had a good time!

The moms went to lunch instead. Tripp really got down with his cheese.

We went to a nice dinner at the Hyatt Inclince Village then went to the hotel's casino to try to hit it big...we did not, but we had fun and stayed out way past our bedtime!

On our last day we went back to North Star to ice skate. Edina and Parker are pros but for Dave and me, it was our first time. All I can say is that Dave almost blew out his knee and I am ready for Olympic trials...not really.

Luke saw this bungee trampoline and really wanted to do it...and so did I! At first I thought $12 for 5 minutes was a rip but after only 4 minutes of some pretty sick moves, including but not limited to a back flip, I was sick to my stomach and ready to get off.

Luke on the other hand had a great time and tears were shed when he wasn't able to go again. He's got energy for days!

Thank you Dave, Edina, Xander and Addyson for sharing your family vacation with us! We couldn't have had more fun and can't wait to do it again! Love you guys!

Our Christmas 2012

This Christmas was particularly special for several reasons:
1. It was Tripp's first Christmas and our first Christmas as a family of four!Side note: When we realized how popular the name Liam had become, we decided to call him by his middle name, Tripp. Sorry about the confusion and sorry to be those crazy people who can't decided what to call their kid!
2. For the first time ever, my parents spent the holiday with us in Washington. They had tried back in 2008 but got to Phoenix and had to fly back home because the Seattle airport was out of de-icer.
We were so excited to get to have such a family-filled holiday and feel so blessed to have the happy, healthy family we do!

Here is Tripp sporting the moose outfit Mammy got him.

We spent Christmas Eve at home with my parents and Parker's mom (Nana) and grandmother (Mimi). Christmas Eve is a special day for Parker and me because we met on X-mas Eve 2007. We celebrated our 5-year anniversary that night! Ha! And you all said it wouldn't last!

Tripp and Nana!

Luke riding the pony that Nana got him and Tripp.

Of course he had to get his cowboy hat on to ride.

Parker was excited to get several much-needed cold-weather jackets from his mom.

Among other things, I was excited to get the wall hanging I had shown her a couple weeks earlier.

Here is Luke's letter to Santa. I think he scored some extra points for his honesty.

Luke also got a fancy chair of his very own from Nana.

Santa did some serious unloading when he stopped at our house.

Nearly impossible to get a pic of both boys looking, but here they are early on Christmas morning.

Tripp, more interested in the bow than his gifts, naturally.

Tripp and Papa Clause.

Stockings!

Luke on his new bike.

Tripp trying out big brother's throne.

Momentarily interested in his new toy.

Unfortunately I didn't get any family shots of us on Christmas day and only got a couple of my parents with the boys. I am still kicking myself for that! We are heading down to NM in March and I have already vowed to take a ton of pictures. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that 2013 is filled with nothing but love and blessings. Happy new year!
