The Boys' Room/ Nursery

Parker and I spent the large majority of our winter renovating our home. It is kind of hard to explain, but essentially we expanded what used to be Luke's room and turned it into our master suite (we didn't have a master before). Luckily the room we moved out of is large enough to house both boys, including a crib and a huge bunk bed.
Initially I had really wanted Liam (that's baby #2's name, btw) to have his own nursery, but we decided that the boys can share at this young age, plus we needed to keep our guest room for when we have visitors. Luke's nursery theme was animals and because he loves animals so much, I didn't want to take that away from him, but I also wanted to do something totally new and different. I am pretty happy with how it turned out and I hope my two little boys will be too!

PS- I spent an hour lowering the crib just so I could put the new bedding on to see how it all looks together just to have to raise it again. Luke simply isn't ready to give up the comfort and safety of his crib for his new big boy bunk bed. He has about 6 more months (while Liam is in with Parker and me) and then he's getting evicted!

I painted a growth chart here so we can keep track of how (not) tall our boys are getting!

Beach Days!

We really lucked out with some awesome beach-worthy weather during our visit to Manhattan Beach, CA. We spent my birthday playing in the sand and soaking up some nice warm sunshine...considering it was snowing in Seattle the day we left, it was a more than welcome change.

Playing in the sand at Hermosa Beach.

Luke and Xander building sand castles.

Edina and Addyson--she had her eyes on the water the whole time! Definitely a water baby!

My sweet little boy...he sang me 'Happy Birthday' all day and is still telling me 'happy birfday mommy!'

My boys:)

What would a trip to the beach be without a local hotdog for lunch?

Like father like son!

Luke showing off his pirate booty that he found in the sand!

Thank you so much to the Dworak family for showing us such a good time during our visit. My 30th birthday was by far the very best one yet!

Disneyland!

My one and only true wish for my big 3-0 was to take Luke to Disneyland. Being that I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant and it was about 90 degrees outside lessened the thrill just a bit but my best birthday gift was getting to see the excitement on Luke's face as he took in everything around him. We went with our good friends Dave and Edina and their two children Xander and Addyson. The boys only managed to make it on to Dumbo, a rollercoaster in Toon Town, the Finding Nemo Submarine (I got to go on that one too!) and Pirates of the Caribbean, but it was a full day and we were all exhausted by the end.

Eating BBQ for lunch..it was yummy! Thanks Colin and Tammy for the recommendation!

Of course our first stop after lunch was to visit the goats in the little petting zoo behind Thunder Mountain RR.

Waiting in line to ride Dumbo with Dave and Xander! It was a long, hot wait for all the boys.

Toon Town!

I finally got him to wear his ears when we headed in to Mickey's house in Toon Town.

Unfortunatley our only picture with Mickey Mouse turned out blurry...oh well!

Cooling off with a giant water ball!
