Our Home Renovation---DONE!

Here is the final product of our home remodel...some rooms merely got a paint job and new furniture/ bedding. Our master bedroom got a full on face lift. I don't have before pics of every room but the after is what really matters anyhow!

This is our front bedroom that has served as a storage/ junk/ guest room since we've been here. Now it is only going to be a guest room, clean and pretty and nothing else! The bedding I put in here isn't necessarily my style--I would normally choose something more colorful and modern--but the Wanescoating kind of lends itself to something a bit softer so I thought this worked. I also that using silver/ white/ black as the accent colors helped to make it look a bit younger.

This is the before version of our master bathroom. The flooring that you see here is new and just installed. Parker did the floor installation himself as well as the tiled wall behind the sink. I helped paint, did all the decorating and installed the shower head myself (I wasn't completely useless during this whole thing!).

Parker's pet project was this tiled wall. He really wanted to do it and it looks awesome. It gives the bathroom a little something special since it is pretty small.

It's kind of hard to explain, but this room was located on the other side of Luke's old bedroom but was only accessible through a door in our garage. It has served as an extra guest room, an office and most recently, a giant dumping ground for everyone's stuff. We decided to seal off the doorway and cut out the wall between the two rooms to make one large master. It wasn't until we cut through that we realized there was about a one foot step down into the new room. No big deal, we added a wood ledge and actually really like how it looks.

Parker looking at this project and wondering what we are getting ourselves into!

The wall is gone!

Luke's old bedroom which is now serves as the front part of our master where our bed and my closet is.

The doorway that led to the garage.

The finished product!

This is our old living room. Definitely needed something besides a train table!

A new couch, entertainment center, wall hangings, lamps and drapes made a huge difference!

We were completely exhausted by the time this was all done but the effort was definitely worth it! We are finally comfortable in and proud of our home!
PS- We will probably be here for the next couple of years then hopefully we will be able to build our dream home. As rewarding as it is to know that we did this all ourselves, I told Parker that anything we do from here on out we are paying somebody to do it for us!

The Boys' Room/ Nursery

Parker and I spent the large majority of our winter renovating our home. It is kind of hard to explain, but essentially we expanded what used to be Luke's room and turned it into our master suite (we didn't have a master before). Luckily the room we moved out of is large enough to house both boys, including a crib and a huge bunk bed.
Initially I had really wanted Liam (that's baby #2's name, btw) to have his own nursery, but we decided that the boys can share at this young age, plus we needed to keep our guest room for when we have visitors. Luke's nursery theme was animals and because he loves animals so much, I didn't want to take that away from him, but I also wanted to do something totally new and different. I am pretty happy with how it turned out and I hope my two little boys will be too!

PS- I spent an hour lowering the crib just so I could put the new bedding on to see how it all looks together just to have to raise it again. Luke simply isn't ready to give up the comfort and safety of his crib for his new big boy bunk bed. He has about 6 more months (while Liam is in with Parker and me) and then he's getting evicted!

I painted a growth chart here so we can keep track of how (not) tall our boys are getting!

Beach Days!

We really lucked out with some awesome beach-worthy weather during our visit to Manhattan Beach, CA. We spent my birthday playing in the sand and soaking up some nice warm sunshine...considering it was snowing in Seattle the day we left, it was a more than welcome change.

Playing in the sand at Hermosa Beach.

Luke and Xander building sand castles.

Edina and Addyson--she had her eyes on the water the whole time! Definitely a water baby!

My sweet little boy...he sang me 'Happy Birthday' all day and is still telling me 'happy birfday mommy!'

My boys:)

What would a trip to the beach be without a local hotdog for lunch?

Like father like son!

Thank you so much to the Dworak family for showing us such a good time during our visit. My 30th birthday was by far the very best one yet!
